A bill which would pave the style for the expulsion of household of terrorists who support or assist assaults on Israelis via their family members is expected to be introduced to the Ministerial Committee on law at its next meeting on Sunday.
The "Terrorist family unit Expulsion law" would, if passed, enable the protection and interior Ministers to develop the expulsion of individuals who acted as accomplices in terror assaults, including family members of terrorists who have been privy to their relative's intentions or in any other case supported their attacks.
individuals expelled under the legislation could be transferred out Jerusalem or Judea and Samaria to either the Gaza Strip or outside of Israel absolutely. The legislation would also enable them to be barred from returning to Israel sooner or later.
The bill become drafted through coalition chairman David Bitan (Likud) along with Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud). The proposed legislations has the backing of protection and foreign Affairs Committee chairman Avi Dichter (Likud) and Yaakov Peri (Yesh Atid), among others.
The intention of the bill, said Bitan, is to pressure household of terrorists to intervene and prevent assaults earlier than they ensue.
"here's one more tool so they can permit us to pressure families of lone-wolf terrorists to report [their relative's] intentions to perform a terror assault. in many cases, households of terrorists provide support and even help the attacker, and we must give authorities extra equipment to fight terror."
