concord, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan is announcing her preliminary committee assignments within the U.S. Senate.
Hassan, who defeated Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte closing month, has been assigned to the Committee on fitness, training, Labor and Pensions and the Committee on fatherland protection and Governmental Affairs.
Hassan says she's honored to be appointed to committees if you want to permit her to proceed to center of attention on essential New Hampshire priorities, such as the drug abuse disaster, entry to fitness care, reasonably-priced higher education and protecting communities protected.
The appointments have to be accepted via the Democratic Caucus and whole Senate.
Hassan is resigning as governor on Jan. 2 in enhance of her Senate swearing-in on Jan. three. Senate President Chuck Morse may be acting governor until Republican Gov.-decide on Chris Sununu's inauguration on Jan. 5.
