Amazon quietly purchased a gaming business for $10 million, in response to experiences

Amazon has reportedly received yet an extra business worried within the video game business. PitchBook is reporting (by way of TechCrunch) that Amazon bought a small gaming enterprise called GameSpark closing quarter for about $10 million.

Like Amazon's different gaming acquisitions, GameSpark is never a video game developer — in its place, the business offers what it describes as "the premier backend development platform for game builders." In so many words, GameSpark provides a framework for the creation of video games.

It stands to intent that, if GameSpark turned into indeed bought, Amazon will now present the features that GameSpark did at one element — most likely via its Amazon Lumberyard program.

Lumberyard, which was delivered again in February 2016, is an all-in-one video game construction engine. In English, that skill it will also be used to create video games that may then be supported via Amazon's web internet hosting features (AWS) and Amazon's game streaming service (Twitch). or not it's a kind of "closed ecosystem" approach to game development that encourages any developers using the provider to also use Amazon's different functions to help their games.

GameSpark offers features like leaderboards and microtransactions, potentially offering further capabilities to Amazon's Lumberyard online game development provider. For its half, Amazon hasn't formally announced the acquisition, nor did it respond to request for remark as of publishing.
