Wimbledon 2017: safety stepped up after terror attacks

protection at Wimbledon is being stepped up after the recent UK terror assaults involving automobiles hitting pedestrians.

The measures include the installation of concrete roadside barriers to offer protection to tennis fanatics outside the venue.

The Met Police says the plans will also see firearms officers in and across the grounds and a cellular unit which can "reply to emerging incidents".

match organisers say there has been a "proportional uplift" in measures introduced in previous years.

About 7,000 people had been queuing outdoor the All England club on the primary day of the championships.
